What Is a Serving Size?

-One medium size fruit (the size of a baseball or tennis ball)

-1/2 cup small fruits or fruit cut into small pieces

-3/4 cup (6oz.) of 100% fruit or vegetable juice

-1/4 cup dried fruit

-1/2 cup raw, frozen or cooked vegetables

-1 cup of raw leafy vegetables

-1/2 cup cooked beans or peas

-3 oz meat, fish, chicken, turkey, pork, beef (size of a deck of cards)

-2 tablespoons peanut butter

-1 cup (8oz) skim, 1%, 2% or whole milk

-3/4 to 1 cup (6 to 8oz) plain, non-fat or low-fat yogurt

-1 ½ oz. of fat free, 2% or whole fat cheeses (Cheddar, Monterey or Colby Cheeses) (Approximately one ounce of cheese is equal to a pair of dice)

-One slice of bread, one pancake, one waffle

– ½ cup cooked rice or pasta

-½ cooked cereal such as oatmeal, one cup cold cereal wheat flakes etc, ½ to ¾ cup dense cold cereal such as granola, etc…

-One ounce uncooked pasta, crackers, muffin
