Vital Records–Birth and Death Certificates
Missouri birth, death, marriage and divorce records are maintained by the Department of Health and Senior Services Bureau of Vital Records.
Any Missouri local public health department has access to these records
To obtain a Missouri Birth/Death Certificate you must complete a Vital Record Application present with a valid ID (click here) and pay the fee (see below)
Applicants must show identification when requesting certified copies of a vital records.
Access to a central registry of Missouri births, deaths and fetal deaths reported from January 1, 1910 to the present (some delayed filings from births and deaths prior to 1910 are available) Note: In the State of Missouri, vital records are not open to the general public and can only be obtained by the individual, guardian or other legal party.
Any local Missouri health department can issue Certified copies of Missouri birth/death records.
Birth Certificates are $15.00 per certificate
Death Certificates are $13 for first certificate and $10 each for subsequent when requested and printed at same time.
